XL Toastmasters Hoffman Estates, Illinois

If you want to feel very welcome at a club, this is the club for you.  XL has a membership of 20 members and they are President's Distinguished.  This is a club primarily made up of English as a 2nd language members. Before, during and after the meeting they referred to us and made Steve and me feel very welcome. They kept referring to us as 'Honorable Guests'.  I felt very important.  

Steve did the funnybone role, which is telling a joke.  I did the Word of the Day.  I chose "Bamboozle."  It was fun word. They had 3 speakers and 3 really good evaluators.  One thing I really appreciate about this club is all the feedback they give each other.  They are really trying to help each other get better.  The grammarian gave a lot of specific areas for them to improve since English is their 2nd language.  The general evaluator at the end wrapped up the meeting with even more ways for them to improve and then they asked us to comment at the end with suggestions for improvement.  

I guess if I could give one piece of feedback to them (since they really like feedback) I would say they need to work on their website.  It really needs work.  However, it doesn't seem like they really need it since they have 20 members and are Presidents Distinguished, so what do I know.   Either way, had a great time at XL Toastmasters and who knows we may pop in again at another time.
